Reminded today by some of your prayer requests that we are all going through personal storms one way or another. Whether it’s an addiction you are facing, or a loved one in critical condition, these are moments for us to take a step back to gain eternal perspective and try to see things through God’s eyes. God wants you whole heart, all the time. He’s the God of the hills and of the valleys. Constant through it all. Praise His name today for His ways and for what He has done for you on the cross. We can’t understand his reasoning, sometimes we are lucky and he reveals a glimpse of perspective to us. Just trust. You are loved.
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.” _______________________________
IF YOU’VE MET HIS REQUIREMENTS WITH OBEDIENCE, CALL ON THE PROMISES HE HAS FOR YOU. ✝️📖
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.” (Colossians 3:16) ⠀
Let’s turn to God with a childlike faith, recognizing how much we need Him, and delighting in His perfect love toward us.
Father, I thank you that through Jesus you have made me one of your children. You are my perfect heavenly Father. You know exactly what I need and delight to love and care for me. Help me to humble myself before you like a child. I look to you today to help me grow into who you’ve called me to be. Amen.
God, remind me that I need you on my journey
Thank you Lord for sending your only Son to die on the cross in the place of my sins. Jesus, my saviour, redeemer, and life-giver, you have won my heart and I commit it to you fully in every endeavour today. Amen.
Take a minute and just thank God for all the good in your life ❤️
This is how we know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming; even now it is already in the world.” (1 John 4:2-3 CSB)
We live in an era of religious pluralism, in which the prevailing attitude is that all religions are equal, valid and ultimately lead to God. For most people, there is no such thing as absolute truth. Rather, “truth” is something that is relative and self-determined. As followers of Jesus Christ, we should not be surprised by this, because John tells us in these verses that in “the last hour” (1 John 2:18), there will be a battle for truth. Many competing voices will be telling what to believe. False prophets will arise even within the Church and speak things that are not from God. There will be a battle between “the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception” (1 John 4:6).
What are the things that tend to take you off course and keep you from a single-minded devotion to the Lord? Is it whatever is in your past? Is it all that is happening in your life right now? Is it all the unknowns of tomorrow?
Invite the Spirit to renew and sharpen your focus again today on Jesus. Ask Him to help you to be someone who is keeping their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Prayer: God, I want to be useful to you for the kingdom of God. Help me to not be distracted or to lose focus on what is most important. Turn my gaze upward to you and away from anything that would hinder my effectiveness today. Amen.
