TRAVELING + DEVIATING FROM YOUR ROUTINE.
Does this bring anyone else stress? Because I personally feel it in a major way. I wish this weren’t the case, but this is where I am & something that I’m working on. When it comes to my sleep, work, fitness & eating routines, I’m not the most go-with-the-flow kind of gal. The anticipation of this alone can cause anxiety even a week or two before a trip ... anyone else with me? Recently I was chatting with a gf about having these feelings around an upcoming vacation, and she was like, “Dale, you’ve already committed. You’re going! The decision has been made - so enjoy it, it’s too late to not.” - SO TRUE ... sometimes it just takes hearing it from someone else. I’m headed to Paris tomorrow and couldn’t be MORE excited for a vacation with some girlfriends. I’m going in with the mentality: those extra croissants and a few less workouts won’t hurt me, but spending all that money and time traveling not to fully enjoy it will.
It will never feel like a vacation if you don’t let your guard down and embrace the change of routine — that’s why we’re there, after all. It also helps me to remember that my everyday routine will be there waiting for me when I’m back.
