Flip Grip love! 🧡 Which one is your favourite?? .
There are many postures that offer the opportunity to flip the grip (grabbing the foot by reaching overhead) and many ways to get into a flipped grip! .
I will post a tutorial on this soon 👀 (keep a look out for it!) .
But until then you can swipe to see how I got into a few of these, each one with a slightly different technique for twisting the arm into place for flipped grip (complete with a few wobbles especially on the last one! 😆) .
This grip really opens the chest and shoulders, so it’s more intense. ✨As always, move slowly and mindfully. Treat every millimetre of movement as an asana in itself, pay attention to your body, and enjoy where you are. It’s not about the end goal. It’s the journey!✨ .

All the technique in the world will not save you if you do not practice. Most of the time it is not lack knowledge that is holding us back, but rather the willpower to practice the things that we already know we should be doing. I often find myself putting off doing the real work while in search of ways to get out of it. If I spent even half of that time in dedicated practice I know I’d be waaaaaay further along. Do you do this? .
Finally straddle pressing again and am now able to shift my gaze which is something I could never do even before my injury. So exciting. Still lacking some areas of strength, but I know it is coming! Thanks to my teacher @acromegan for pushing me and helping me grow!!!#practicepracticepractice#practiceandalliscoming#gazeshiftpresshandstand#yoga

Whose an 80’s baby that remembers the movie Night of the Twisters??? 🌪
Well I bought it and that’s what we have in store for tonight! 😂 I remember we didn’t watch many movies growing up but that was one of them. Henry loves scary movies, but it’s hard to find scary movies that aren’t completely terrifying, so I told him about one I used to watch as a kid, and he wanted to see it! So for tonight, I’ll be reliving my childhood. 😜

Surya yantrasana ♥️ Also known as compass pose, this is one of my favorites for opening the shoulders, hamstrings, hips and stretching and strengthening the spine. When I teach this pose in class, we move through a series of poses to prepare the body - hamstring, hip and shoulder openers, lots of twists and lateral side body stretches. For those who have tight hamstrings or shoulders, even when significantly warmed up, this pose can be very challenging. .
A strap helps with both shoulder and hamstring tightness. The knee of the extended leg can be bent, no need to straighten and risk injury. Both sit bones should stay rooted down, and this can be tricky with tight shoulders and hamstrings. Sitting on a block aids tight hips and can also help with keeping both sit bones grounded. ♥️ .
Wearing @aloyoga 😊 Thanks so much for capturing my compass @bonnieenglund 😘
