Ladies (and gents) we have to be very careful not to judge our self worth on social media. The number of likes or followers you have does not equal your self worth. You cannot get your validation from social media.
What you can get from social media is community and friendship and support.
I have met the most amazing people thru @instagram! I have received support and encouragement from people I call friends. I get advice - solicited or not 😂. I have a community of people who share common interests and understand and even share my “crazy”! I find inspiration and motivation every single day. I share in others joy and pain, successes and failures.
This past weekend I met up with @clairerunsthere (if you don’t follow her you need to!) when I was in Baltimore. We instantly connected and felt like we had known each other forever! She is beautiful inside and out! We talked and talked and wished we’d had more time! But we both agreed we have never had an IG meetup where we didn’t instantly hit it off. We talked about the ups and downs of social media and we both agreed that the friendships we’ve gained far outweigh any negatives.
I am so grateful for all the love, support, and encouragement from each of you!!
