A little cockpit shot #repost for your Sunday. I ended up in #Shanghai this weekend because I was sitting at my West Coast home in #Sandiego after flying with @victory_aviation in #Dallas the day before and was feeling like an extra #airlinepilot trip this month. You see, if another pilot calls in sick or drops a trip for whatever reason, the company offers it up in “open time”. That means any “line pilot” (pilots not on reserve call standing by for such instances) who can fit it in his schedule can pick it up. If it’s close to “go” time and we’re short on reserves to cover it with guys who are on call....they’ll even offer twice pay!! Well, that’s how I ended up in #China 🇨🇳😀👍🏾. I know you aspiring airline pilots out there are going to ask about pay. It’s actually public how much every pilot in every company in the US makes. Just google ____airline pilot pay. In this case (do the math) my $568 per hour pay rate due to my premium pay ....times 25.5 hours for #LAX to #PVG 🇨🇳! .....aaaaaaand a bunch of commuter pilots are about to hate me. 🤷🏾♂️. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
Brb, crying right now... 🤧
American Airlines flight 186. PEK-ORD. .
I never got there... hope to go in the future to see the Great Wall of China . Built between the 5th Century B.C. And the 16th century, the stone and earth fortification was created to protect the borders of the Chinese Empire from invading Mongols. The succession of multiple walls spans approx 4,000 miles, making it the worlds longest man made structure. Like WOW 🙌🏽 .
